Thursday 26th December 2024
The group made their own way to Hopetoun on Boxing Day with Jim and Sandra the first to arrive, followed by Graham and Pam, Markus and Andrea, then Dave and Tammy and their family – Tori, Lauren, Ashton and Wolfie. Roland, Donna, Bronwyn, Evie and Jack arrived the following day.
Friday 27th December
This was a rest day, allowing everyone to have a look around Hopetoun and the beaches.
Saturday 28th December
The group left camp around 9.30am for a morning/ mid af-ternoon trip to the Fitzgerald Ranges, stopping at a few bays along the way. After a lunch break we then headed back to camp following a track sided by a river and a property line, the road was bumpy and rough in places.
Sunday 29th December
This was another free day for the group, some taking more drives to the various beaches in the ar-ea or just wandering around town.
Monday 30th December
The group left at 9am for a drive along the Southern Great Ocean Road, stopping at various spots along the way before stopping for lunch and a swim at Mason’s Bay. We then headed back to camp via Springdale Road for a rest before going to the Hopetoun Pub for an early New Years Eve Dinner.
Tuesday 31st December
Our last day in Hopetoun and again a day of everyone doing their own thing, with some starting the pack up for the trip back to Perth the next day. New Years Eve was very quiet with some of us not even making it until midnight.
Wednesday 1st January 2025
Time to pack up and head home with Markus and Andrea being the first to depart with the remainder of the group leaving shortly afterwards. Roland, Donna, Bronwyn, Evie and Jack staying until Friday 3rd January.
