After an easy trip down to the block, we arrived to find a tree had fallen over the water tanks. Luckily it missed the toilets.

The forecast for the Friday night was stormy so all the adults fitted into the various cabins with just two boys who slept under canvas.

While most people went off to Lewana, some stayed “at home” for the day. Others did a half day trip. Those who went into Nannup for coffee etc in the morning were able to check out the tulips in the flower boxes in the main street.

During the afternoon, Gerry and Justin (6) started on chain sawing the smaller branches. Some of these ended up on top of the bonfire. When their energy/interest ran out Jennifer took over then son Ross ar-rived with a slightly larger chainsaw and got the branches off the top of the tanks. So much for a quiet day.

The bonfire took over 100 firelighters to get it going as we had had so much rain recently. The kids had their competitions to see who could light the best small fire. Eventually Paul Nolan put his leaf blower on a chair pointing at the fire and left it on. The fire then took off.

There was still a lot of unburnt wood in the morning, so on the Sunday afternoon, Kelcie, Mark and Jen-nifer chucked it all into the centre of the fire area. One firelighter was all it took to set it going and it was all gone on the Monday morning.
